Since becoming aware of the perspective of “my empty self” in 1999, I have continued the practice of drawing lines and circles, then cutting and stacking sheets of paper one by one. I listen intently to the subtle nuances and quirks of individual emotions, as well as their natural rhythms, as they emerge in distorted forms. All of my works are now created freehand.

For me, the (cut) line is a medium that reflects within me the cosmic order—a quiet, unifying force—that separates negative from positive, connects the individual as a part of nature, and links humanity to the natural world that surrounds us.

Balance, order, and purity form a unique world. I confront the otherness of these subjects: matter as shadow and the spiritual realm that is “I.”

Living now in this period of transformation of energy bodies brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, I wish to witness the philosophical shift from “Nature” to “Physis” through art—which is, in a sense, “artificial”—and to explore the true experience embodied in that expression.

In 1999, I launched a project titled “The Act of Drawing/Cutting.” Through drawings featuring countless overlapping circles and lines, as well as by layering hundreds or thousands of sheets of paper—each cut freehand one by one—I create original topographies. I attempt to embody the synchronicity of time, nature, and humanity.

In 2018, she began a new series of works titled “Parallel World,” combining organic forms with geometric shapes. She is exploring pure order as a form of abstract expression.
